Outlook 2003 vs Exchange 2010

Is anyone also experiencing higher data traffic when an Outlook 2003 client connects to an Exchange 2010 server compared to an Outlook 2007 or 2010 client.

And if so where you able to find a clarification?

I Believe that is by design.

Outlook 2003 does not work as smart with connections as Outlook 2007/2010, they reduce the amount of data sent over a connection.
